Over the weekend of March 24, 42 students and two faculty traveled by bus to New York City as part of a Teaching International and Honors Program trip to see the Islamic Art exhibit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in mid-town Manhattan. The exhibit included pieces of Islamic art from Africa, the Middle East, India, and elsewhere. The display, called "Byzantium and Islam: Age of Transition," will be at the New York City museum through July 8.
Penn State Harrisburg students were in the spotlight when an exhibition of their art works debuted with a reception May 14 at the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg.
