The Penn State Lady Lions have announced that seniors Alex Bentley (Indianapolis, Ind.), Mia Nickson (Ashburn, Va.) and Marisa Wolfe (Ford City, Pa.) will serve as team captains for the 2012-13 season. Nickson will serve in the captain role for the third consecutive season, while Wolfe is a captain for the second straight year. Bentley claims her first team captain honor.

The Penn State women's basketball team held its annual postseason banquet Saturday (April 28) at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel and honored both players and supporters of the program for their dedication and commitment during the season. Sophomore guard Maggie Lucas (Narberth, Pa.) claimed the Joanie O'Brien Most Outstanding Player Award, while junior guard Alex Bentley (Indianapolis, Ind.) garnered the Collegiate Pride Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Nickson named to Kingston All-Region team

Penn State junior forward Mia Nickson (Ashburn, Va.) was one of the five players selected to the NCAA Tournament Kingston All-Region team. Nickson was 8-for-12 from the field on the way to 19 points in Penn State's Regional Semifinal loss to Connecticut Sunday (March 25).

Trogele, Nickson named Lady Lion captains for 2010-11

Senior Julia Trogele (Devon, Pa.) and redshirt sophomore Mia Nickson (Ashburn, Va.) have been selected as the 2010-11 captains for the Penn State Lady Lions, it was announced Wednesday (Sept. 29) by head coach Coquese Washington. "The leadership has been tremendous," Washington said of her captains. "Our captains have definitely taken our leadership to a whole new level this spring and this summer. They are extremely accountable and responsible and they have held our team to a high standard in the off-season, which is critical."
