11/19/12The Engineering Career Resources and Employer Relations office has awarded its top honors to two students for 2012-13.
Sienna George, a senior majoring in chemical engineering and toxicology, received the Dr. James Slick Cooperative Education Student of the Year Award for completing her co-op at Dow Agrosciences. At Dow, her responsibilities included leading a team of supply chain specialists in charge of evaluating and designing a bulk terminal network for new products.
Katherine Shea, a senior in mechanical engineering, received the Anita M. Todd Internship Student of the Year Award for completing her internship at ArcelorMittal USA. Her responsibilities included supervising a 40-person workforce in a steel manufacturing plant, assisting in the construction of a $54 million reheat furnace, executing the installation of a new pump and motor system, and implementing new safety and job requirement policies.
