The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team will send five wrestlers to the national finals of the 2013 NCAA Wrestling Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, as head coach Cael Sanderson's squad went a perfect 5-0 in Friday night's semifinals. The dazzling performance keeps Penn State in first place with 114.5 points, more than 20 points ahead of second place Oklahoma State's 94.0.

The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestling team (13-1, 7-1 B1G), ranked No. 1 nationally in Intermat's TPI, will send a full contingent of 10 wrestlers to the 2013 NCAA Championships on March 21-23, 2013, in Des Moines, Iowa. The three-day event takes place at Wells Fargo Arena and begins at noon Eastern/11 a.m. Central on Thursday.

The Penn State Nittany Lion wrestlers, ranked No. 1 throughout the year on Intermat's national TPI ranking, lived up to that billing once again, winning their third straight Big Ten Championship. Junior Ed Ruth (Harrisburg, Pa.) was named 2013 Big Ten Wrestlers of the Year and Sanderson won his third straight Big Ten Coach of the Year.

Three former national champions and red-shirt freshman who won nearly 30 bouts this year will all head to Iowa City on April 21-22, looking to earn a spot in the 2012 London Summer Olympics.
