'Senior Sendoff' open to Penn State seniors April 25

Graduation is just around the corner for the Class of 2013, and with it comes the annual Penn State Senior Sendoff, to be held from 1 to 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, at the Hintz Family Alumni Center. This is a free event and all seniors are welcome to attend.

Abington students collect 3,000 pounds of food for hunger relief

The Penn State Abington Lion Ambassadors (LAs) rallied the campus community to open their kitchen cabinets, wallets and hearts in the name of hunger relief. Members of the student group loaded up their own cars and delivered 3,051 pounds of food this week to radio station 93.3 WMMR Preston & Steve's annual Camp Out for Hunger at a local shopping complex.

New Fall Fest tradition features free food and entertainment on Nov. 7

Penn State's newest tradition, Fall Fest Featuring University House, will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the University House lawn on the Hintz Family Alumni Center grounds on the University Park campus of Penn State. Attendees will enjoy free food, entertainment, interactive tours of University House, and a special performance by My Hero Zero. This is a free event, and all are welcome to attend.

Abington Lion Ambassadors 'Camp Out for Hunger'

For the seventh consecutive year, the Penn State Abington Lion Ambassadors (LAs) are staging Camp Out for Hunger to help feed the hungry this holiday season. The campus community donated more than 3,200 pounds of food last year, enough to help feed hundreds of people for four months.

The 2012 spring ice cream sale is currently underway at Penn State Mont Alto. Organized by the Penn State Mont Alto Lion Ambassadors, the sale offers an opportunity for the community to enjoy Penn State Creamery ice cream flavors a trip to State College.

Lion Ambassadors to sponsor 5K Walk/Run at Mont Alto

The Penn State Mont Alto Lion Ambassadors will sponsor a "Blue and White" 5k Walk/Run on Saturday, April 21, at Penn State Mont Alto. The event will benefit club programming, community outreach initiatives and student scholarships. There also will be a free one-mile "little lion" run with the Penn State Nittany Lion on the same day.

Lantern tours bring Penn State history to life

The Penn State Lion Ambassadors hosted their annual campus lantern tours from 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27. The tours bring the history of Penn State to life by including a variety of characters essential to the University's history to life. Tours will continue tonight (Oct. 28) and will begin at Old Main. Campus tours led by Penn State students give visitors insider's view

Throughout the year but especially in summer, high school students and their families visit Penn State, strolling along streets and sidewalks while learning about Penn State history, notable buildings and other distinctive facts important to students -- all from tour guides their age. "Most prospective students have such a short window of time to really get a feel for the University," said Lion Ambassador President Katie Perugini, a senior public relations major from West Wyoming, Pa. "In no more than two hours we articulate the history, traditions, student life and services to offer prospective students and their families the most accurate glimpse of what their life could be like at Penn State."
