Meier selected to attend Leading Change Institute

John Meier, Penn State science librarian, has been selected to join a group of 40 professionals this June at the Leading Change Institute, the successor to the Frye Institute, in Washington, D.C. Pleased to be selected, Meier observed, "This is an amazing opportunity. Past participants including many library directors and deans have remarked that it is a transformative experience."

Graphic novel fans and cosplay enthusiasts will not want to miss the first Wildcat Comic Con, on April 13 and 14, at Penn State's Pennsylvania College of Technology (Penn College) in Williamsport, Pa. This event will be a great opportunity to meet writers and artists in person, get books signed and learn more about the world of graphic novels, comic books, manga, animation and videogames.

Science Librarian John Meier was recently appointed to the editorial board of the scholarly journal Science & Technology Libraries. Science & Technology Libraries covers all aspects of librarianship as it relates to the fields of science, engineering, clinical investigation and agriculture and features original research articles focused on best practices in the management of information resources in these areas.

Librarian's new book features latest facts about dinosaurs

Science Librarian John Meier has edited a new volume in the Reference Shelf series, titled "Dinosaurs," which pulls together the latest knowledge and discoveries about dinosaurs from the past 10 years. The book contains five chapters: "What Were the Dinosaurs?" "Bone Sharps, Fossil Hunters, and Dinosaur Experts," "Of a Feather? The Bird-Dinosaur Link," "Mass Extinction: What Killed the Dinosaurs?" and "New Discoveries." Informative, current and highly readable, the book provides a comprehensive overview of the topic that is accessible to all.
