The Penn State student chapter of the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) earned the institute's Gold Award for its success and achievements during the 2016-17 academic year. The Gold Award is the IISE University Chapter Recognition Program's highest honor and has been awarded to the Penn State chapter the last two years.

Several faculty and students within the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering were honored for excellence at the Industrial and Systems Engineering Research Conference in Pittsburgh.

Charlotte Fei, a junior industrial engineering student at Penn State, has been named a recipient of the 2017 Dwight D. Gardner Scholarship, presented by the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers.

The Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering held its annual banquet on Friday, March 31 and presented awards to outstanding students, faculty and alumni.

Wes Dickson, a senior industrial engineering student, has been selected to receive the S. Balachandran Service Scholarship by Alpha Pi Mu, the industrial engineering national honor society. The scholarship was established in 2016 by Swaminathan Balachandran, a longtime professor of industrial engineering at the University Wisconsine-Platteville, who contributed much to both the profession of industrial engineering and to Alpha Pi Mu during his career.

The Institute for Industrial and Systems Engineers (IISE) recently awarded the Penn State student chapter with its Gold Award. The award is the highest honor in the professional organization’s University Chapter Recognition Program.

A group of three Penn State industrial engineering students took home first place honors in a national competition for developing a mobile application that could potentially save lives.

Greg Zuber, a senior industrial engineering student, has been involved in numerous activities and organizations during his time at Penn State. His four years with the Blue Band, however, have been the highlight of his collegiate career.
