Faculty Speaker Series continues with business research presentation
Talha Harcar, associate professor of business at Penn State Beaver, was the second featured speaker in the fall semester's Faculty Speakers Series. He gave a presentation on one of his research topics, "Country of Origin Impact: Taste Preferences for a Soft Drink Brand," on Oct. 22. His topic focused on the impact of taste perception and the intention to buy using two different concepts, and involved the audience in product taste-testing.

There are still spaces available in nine academic enrichment and sports camps being offered in July and August by the Penn State Beaver Office of Continuing Education and the Athletic Department. Center Theatre marks 30th anniversary with 'Jesus Christ Superstar'
The Center Theatre Players will mark their 30th anniversary of presenting theatre for the Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center with a production of "Jesus Christ Superstar," 7:30 p.m., July 26, 27, and 28, in the campus Student Union Building. Tickets are on sale, and advance ticket purchase is recommended. Tickets are $15 for all ages. All seating is general, and tickets are non-refundable. Tickets can be purchased Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., in the Beaver campus Ross Administration Building, suite 202. In addition, tickets can be ordered by mail by sending a stamped, self-addressed envelope with a detailed request for tickets, contact information, and a check payable to Penn State. Mail request to: Brodhead Cultural Center Penn State Beaver, 100 University Drive, Monaca, PA 15061. If available, tickets will be sold on the night of each performance beginning at 6 p.m. in the auditorium lobby. Open auditions announced for 'Jesus Christ Superstar'
Center Theatre Players will hold open auditions for principal and multiple featured roles in their upcoming production of 'Jesus Christ Superstar' directed by Sandy Reigel. Children ages 9-13 and adults are invited to audition. The show, which will be presented as part of the Penn State Beaver Brodhead Cultural Center's summer season, will be held at 7:30 p.m., July 26, 27, and 28, in the auditorium of the Beaver campus Student Union Building, Center Township. Adults who audition are asked to prepare one song from the show or a song from a similar pop/rock musical. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, April 29, and Monday, April 30, in the auditorium. Adults must schedule an audition time by contacting the Brodhead Cultural Center at 724-773-3610 or rxm70@psu.edu. Children's auditions will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, May 6, in the auditorium. Children do not need to schedule an audition time and do not need to prepare a song to audition. Children will learn a song taught by Reigel and will perform it individually. Penn State Beaver will host a free town hall meeting about Agent Orange from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, in the Student Union Building auditorium. The public is invited to attend the event, which is sponsored by Rep. Jim Marshall, 14th District and Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA)/ Associates of Vietnam Veterans of America (AVVA), Chapter 862. Information about the genetic legacy resulting from exposure to Agent Orange will be provided as well as resources and educational material.
