In a quick swing across the state, former President Bill Clinton will visit Washington County, Harrisburg and University Park on Wednesday, Oct. 29, as part of Obama-Biden election campaign activities before Nov. 4. Clinton's visit to the Keystone State will focus on Barack Obama's promise to bring change to Pennsylvania and the nation. The event on Penn State's University Park campus is being billed as the "Change We Need Rally" and will be held at Rec Hall, on the corner of Atherton Street and Curtin Road. The event is free and open to the public, and tickets are not required. However, Rec Hall has a limited capacity and admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis so early arrival is recommended. Doors are scheduled to open at 2 p.m. The only entrance to the event will be the front doors by the Curtin-Burrowes road intersection.

Young and older alike came out to hear the former president speak about his wife, Hillary, and why he believes she would make a good president. Clinton spoke about what it was like to be president, and mentioned how much he enjoyed Creamery ice cream in his previous visits to State College as a sitting president. The visit to Rec Hall was one of three on his schedule for Thursday. Clinton also spoke at Dickinson College in Carlisle and at Lewistown Area High School. Former President Bill Clinton will make a campaign stop on Penn State's University Park campus on behalf of Hillary Clinton Thursday, March 27. Clinton will speak on "Solutions for America" at 8 p.m. in Rec Hall on the campus. Information about admission, parking and other details will be posted to this site as they are known. The stop is one of three on his schedule for Thursday. Clinton also will be at Dickinson College in Carlisle at 3:15 p.m., and at Lewistown Area High School at 5:45 p.m. During this campaign, Bill Clinton also visited Penn State Brandywine on March 7. Sen. Hillary Clinton was at Penn State Fayette on Monday. "As the presidential candidates criss-cross Pennsylvania leading up to the April 22 primary, our students are getting a wonderful opportunity to learn more about candidates and be part of the democratic process," said Bill Mahon, vice president for University Relations. "Penn State is the perfect place for discussions of issues affecting the nation, and this visit is part of our open-door policy for the campaigns of both parties' presidential candidates."
