Public invited to attend free film about domestic violence awareness
The Penn State Beaver Voices Against Violence, and Climate and Diversity committees along with Crisis Center North (CCN) and the Women's Center of Beaver County (WCBC) will present a free showing of "Telling Amy's Story" at 4:30 p.m. today in the auditorium of the Beaver campus Student Union Building. The public is invited to attend the program as part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Penn State Blue Out shirts now on sale at campus bookstore
Bookstores at Penn State's Commonwealth Campuses, including Beaver campus, are selling Blue Out T-shirts for Penn State's Blue Out football game against Temple, Saturday, Sept. 22, at Beaver Stadium on Penn State's University Park campus. The sale is open to the public.
The idea is the same as that of previous Penn State White Out games, to show a united front of Penn Staters and friends rallying for the same cause -- in this case the awareness and prevention of child and sexual abuse.
Community urged to support Blue Out T-shirt sale
To keep awareness of child abuse prevention in the forefront at Penn State, bookstores at the University's Commonwealth Campuses, including Beaver campus, are selling Blue Out t-shirts for Penn State's Blue Out football game against Temple, Saturday, Sept. 22, at Beaver Stadium. Time to be announced. The sale is open to the public. Health Center hosts 'Love Your Heart' event
The Penn State Beaver Health Center and Office of Student Affairs hosted a 'Love Your Heart' event last Wednesday in the Student Union Building and the Brodhead Bistro. The program was designed to increase students', staff, and faculty awareness of heart health issues, including how to prevent heart attacks, how to develop a healthy diet, and ways to keep the heart strong. Students hit the runway to raise awareness of child abuse prevention
Penn State York student Cyasia Lomax and other students in the campus modeling club Nittany Catwalk will hold a fundraising event called "Fashion for a Purpose: Child Abuse Prevention" from 6-7:30 p.m. on April 22, in the campus' Pullo Family Performing Arts Center. The event is being held in memory of Darisabel Baez, a victim of child abuse who died in 2008. There is no charge to attend, but organizers are asking for donations in Darisabel's memory to support the Lehman Center, an organization run by the Children's Aid Society in York.
