Penn State Fayette offers in-person summer youth programs

LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — The Office of Outreach and Continuing Education at Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will offer its popular summer youth programming on campus in June and July.

Seats are limited due to social-distancing limitations and all University COVID-19 safety requirements will be observed. Early online registration is recommended. Browse the course catalog:

Go for the Gold (Grades 1–3)

Join us for a week of learning a brief history of the Olympics while participating in your own Olympic events and competitions.

  • Dates: July 6–9
  • Time: 9 to 4 p.m.

Around the World in Five Days (Grades 1–3)

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a different country? Students will explore various cultures around the world from art to cuisine, and everything in between.

  • Dates: July 12–16
  • Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

How Does Your Garden Grow? (Grades 4–6)

This camp encourages a love of nature and gardening. Students will learn how to plant, grow, and nurture a vegetable garden while helping Penn State Fayette tend to their campus community garden.

Science and Robotics I (Grades 4–6)

Join us for a week of creating video games from SCRATCH I and Jr. Robotics Academy with LEGO WeDo.

Science Behind the Magic (Grades 6–8)

Are you waiting for an owl to deliver your letter from Hogwarts? Join us for a week of wizarding where you will learn how to make magic into reality.

Welcome to the Lion’s Den (Grades 6–9)

Penn State Fayette’s version of the “Shark Tank." Students will explore entrepreneurial activities, design a new product/service, and develop a business pitch.

Chevron STEM Camp (Grades 9–12)

A week of hands-on educational programming that focuses on the practical application of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math in everyday life.

  • Dates: July 26–30
  • Times: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Cost: Free

SAT Prep (Virtually via Zoom), offered in collaboration with Penn State York

  • Dates: Aug. 4–7
  • Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
