LEMONT FURNACE, Pa. — In the next installment of the Advocacy Series, Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will host Phyllis Stackhouse, retired certified registered nurse practitioner, for a presentation about eating disorders at 12:15 p.m. on Monday, April 9, in the Swimmer Hall auditorium of the Williams building. The event is open to the public.
Stackhouse worked at Penn State for 23 years, where she helped to develop the Healthy Eating and Living Support (HEALS) program, which provides medical services, counseling and education to Penn State students affected by eating disorders. She was also instrumental in the opening of an eating disorder clinic at State College.
Stackhouse earned bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from Penn State, as well as certified registered nurse practitioner and pediatric nurse practitioner degrees from Johns Hopkins University.
The Advocacy Series helps to educate and empower students, faculty, staff and the community to appropriately address a variety of personal and peer issues.
