School of Music ensembles to perform annual President's Concert in Philadelphia

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The University community is invited to join the Penn State School of Music and the Penn State Alumni Association for the 12th annual President's Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27. This year's concert will feature performances by the Philharmonic Orchestra, Concert Choir, and Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and will be held in Verizon Hall, Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, at 300 S. Broad St. in Philadelphia.

At 6 p.m., Penn State alumni and friends will gather at a pre-concert reception in the Kimmel Center's Lounge, hosted by Penn State President Eric Barron and the Penn State Alumni Association. Those attending the reception will be escorted to reserved seating for the President’s Concert. Admission to the concert and reception is $50 for Alumni Association members and students and $65 for non-members, ages 6-17. Children under five are free. Business attire is recommended. If you are unable to attend the Alumni Association's pre-concert reception but would like to attend the 7:30 p.m. performance, call 215-893-1999 or contact the Kimmel Center at ​kimmelcenter.org to purchase tickets. General admission tickets are $15 plus fees; student tickets are $5 plus fees. Concert tickets for music students and their guests are provided free of charge by the Penn State School of Music. The annual President's Concert series provides an opportunity for Penn State students to present concerts in the most renowned performance venues on the East Coast. In its history, Penn State ensembles have traveled to Heinz Hall (Pittsburgh), Kennedy Center (Washington, D.C.), Carnegie Hall (New York City), the Strathmore Centre (Bethesda, Maryland), and the Forum Theatre in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
