A new Undergraduate Bulletin website is now live, providing students with a better experience as they search for classes and find information related to academic requirements, general information and policies regarding degree completion.
The new web-based, academic catalog management system is built on the CourseLeaf software. The current online Bulletin was built in 2007, the first year it was completely migrated from the print edition.
Most users will initially notice the massive interface overhauls as compared to the previous Bulletin website. The new site will better adapt to mobile devices and is more accessible to users with disabilities.
The search function on the new system has been greatly improved, as has the layout, providing a better experience from the landing page down to specific descriptions of courses.
Students will be able to browse for academic programs by college, interest, or campus. Each program page is designed to provide menus for overview of the program, requirements, learning outcomes, academic advising, suggested academic plan, career paths and accreditation. Undergraduate students will also find information on General Education, a requirement in all programs in order to earn a degree.
Numerous courses that are no longer taught at Penn State have been removed from the Bulletin.
Work will continue on the Graduate, Penn State Law, Dickinson Law and College of Medicine Bulletins with launch planned for early fall.
