Penn Staters today (March 13) descended on Harrisburg for Penn State Capital Day 2018 today, an event designed to bring together the University community and Pennsylvania elected officials.
The event, now in its ninth year, is a collaboration between the Penn State Grassroots Network, alumni, network volunteers and student government groups and an opportunity for Penn Staters to meet with lawmakers to discuss the importance of supporting Penn State.
Volunteers shared their personal stories of how the University has positively impacted their lives and why continued support is critical for future Penn Staters, many of whom go on to contribute to Pennsylvania's economic development as innovators and consumers.
Capital Day culminated with a high-energy rally in the Capitol rotunda featuring the Nittany Lion mascot and Berkey Creamery ice cream.
