Information sessions, entrance exam for practical nursing offered

HAZLETON, Pa. —  Penn State Hazleton will hold information sessions for its practical nursing program from 11 a.m. to noon on Monday, March 5, and from 3 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, April 4.

The program is an 18-month part-time program that provides a high-quality noncredit certificate in practical nursing. It prepares individuals with the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes essential for practical nursing practice and the knowledge necessary to pass the NCLEX-PN. All classes are held on evenings and weekends.

The program is led by qualified nursing instructors who teach a curriculum focused on structure and function of the human body, fundamentals of practical nursing, concepts of basic medical-surgical nursing care, and nursing care of adults and children.

The information sessions will provide all the information about Penn State Hazleton’s practical nursing program. Call Penn State Hazleton’s Department of Continuing Education at 570-450-3110 for more information or to register. Student financial aid is available for those who qualify.

The Practical Nurse Entrance Exam (TEAS test) also will be held at Penn State Hazleton. Upcoming test dates are Wednesday, March 14, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; Wednesday, April 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and Monday, April 23, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. For more information or to schedule to take the test, call 570-450-3110.
