Canvas Day offers faculty, staff opportunities to become Canvas experts

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Faculty and staff interested in building up their Canvas expertise can do so at the third annual Canvas Day, to be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Friday, March 16, at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. Registration is no charge to attendees.

Canvas Day will feature a workshop by Ryan Seilhamer, program director of mobile strategy at the University of Central Florida and a Canvas mobile expert, titled “Canvas Teacher App: Mobile is Not Just for Students Anymore.” Seilhamer’s session will focus on the newest Canvas Mobile app, Canvas Teacher. In this session, attendees will explore many of the essential features that Canvas Teacher offers to support teaching anytime and anywhere.

Along with Seilhamer’s mobile workshop, Canvas Day will feature training sessions; workshops by representatives of Instructure (creators of Canvas); the One Cool Thing Room, featuring interesting uses of Canvas; one-on-one consultations; breakout sessions; networking opportunities; and more. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to attendees.
