UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — University Health Services (UHS) Pharmacy, a unit of Penn State Student Affairs, remains committed to serving the needs of all Penn State employees and retirees. Under the Penn State health care plan, which changed its pharmacy benefits manager to CVS Caremark Jan. 1, UHS is an in-network pharmacy. Retirees covered under the Freedom Blue Medicare Advantage Plan through Highmark will also continue to have in-network access to UHS for their pharmacy needs.
In addition to CVS Caremark and Highmark, the pharmacy also will accept non-Penn State-sponsored insurance plans. Individuals enrolled in alternate plans should contact their insurance company to verify coverage at the UHS Pharmacy.
Located in the Student Health Center at University Park, the UHS Pharmacy provides prescription drug services and over-the-counter health and medical supplies. Prescriptions can be filled in person or mailed to campus or home addresses, and refills can be easily managed at the pharmacy, by phone or online.
Penn State employees and retirees are also eligible to enjoy cost savings on many popular prescriptions using the UHS Pharmacy 90-day supply program; a significant reduction compared to most 30-day retail supplies.
The UHS Pharmacy employs a team of experienced pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and support staff who are committed to advancing the personal health of all Penn State community members in a friendly and personalized environment. The pharmacy can be accessed weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. with adjusted hours on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. During the summer months, the pharmacy maintains the same weekday operation schedule but is closed on Saturdays.
