Fans encouraged to arrive early to assist traffic, parking at 16 weekend events

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State fans planning to attend any of the 16 home events during the weekend of Feb. 2-4 are encouraged to arrive on campus earlier than normal in order to assist traffic flow and parking.

The weekend begins on Friday, Feb. 2, with Penn State hosting five athletic events between 4 and 7 p.m. With three events in close proximity to each other on the east side of campus, in addition to the normal egress of Penn State faculty and staff leaving campus, fans are encouraged to set aside extra time to arrive at the event parking lots.

On Saturday, Feb. 3, nine events run throughout the day beginning at 9 a.m., and there are two more home competitions on Sunday.

More detailed parking and ticket information for this weekend is listed below.

Friday, Feb. 2, traffic and parking information 

Faculty, staff and students: Penn State parking permit holders will be able to park for free in the Jordan East and Stadium West lots and East Parking Deck on East Campus for events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Fans with these permits can also park for free in the Nittany Parking Deck on West Campus for events on Friday and Saturday.

Women’s tennis vs. Columbia, Tennis Center (4 p.m.): Parking will be available in the Orange C lot at the Hastings and McKean Road intersection or Eisenhower Parking Deck. Admission is free. Women’s tennis is also home at noon on Sunday.

Men’s and women’s swimming and diving vs. Villanova, Natatorium (5 p.m.): Parking will be available in the East Parking Deck for $1 per hour. Admission is free for the Senior Day meet.

Men’s and women’s indoor track and field hosting the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup, Multi-Sport Facility (5 p.m.): Parking will be available in the Jordan East lot and fans should identify themselves as track and field fans to the attendant.

The home track and field event continues at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb 3, and Jordan East is available for parking. Admission is free.

Men’s ice hockey vs. Notre Dame, Pegula Ice Arena (6:30 p.m.): Parking will be available in the Jordan East and Stadium West lots with a $5 fee for nonparking permit holders. Lots immediately surrounding the venue are held for working and premium parking permit holders.

The Nittany Lions also are at home on Saturday, Feb. 3, with a 4 p.m. puck drop. Both events this weekend are sold out.

Men’s volleyball vs. Ball State, Rec Hall (7 p.m.): Parking will be available in the Nittany Parking Deck or parking lot Red A. Nittany Deck parking is free of charge beginning an hour and a half prior through one hour following the conclusion of the match. Fans will have to pay $1/hour for any time in the deck around this time block on Friday. Admission is free.

Saturday, Feb. 3, traffic and parking information

Penn State will host nine events on Saturday with six events on the east side of campus starting between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Traffic will be heavier leading up to the men’s ice hockey game at 4 p.m., and fans arriving and parking for the 6 p.m. men’s basketball game may have a farther walk to the venue than normal.

Softball Community Day, Holuba Hall (9 a.m.): Parking will be available in the Orange C lot at the Hastings and McKean Road intersection or Eisenhower Parking Deck. Admission is free.

Men’s and women’s indoor track and field hosting the Sykes-Sabock Challenge Cup, Multi-Sport Facility (11 a.m.): Parking will be available in the Jordan East lot. Admission is free.

Men’s tennis vs. Buffalo (noon) and Temple (4 p.m.), Tennis Center: Parking will be available in the Orange C lot at the Hastings and McKean Road intersection or Eisenhower Parking Deck. Tennis fans should be prepared for heavy traffic in the area for the 4 p.m. match due to the men’s hockey game starting at the same time. Admission is free.

Men’s lacrosse vs. Villanova, Holuba Hall (1 p.m.): Parking will be available in the Stadium West and Jordan East lots or in the Orange C lot at the Hastings and McKean Road intersection. Admission is free.

The gates will be open at both the entrance and the exit to the deck on Saturday night. Admission is free.

Men’s basketball vs. Iowa, Bryce Jordan Center (6 p.m.): Parking will be available in the Jordan East and Stadium West lots with a $5 fee for nonparking permit holders. Lots immediately surrounding the venue are held for working and premium parking permit holders.

The Jordan Center ticket office will open at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets are available for the Men’s Basketball Alumni Weekend contest.

Wrestling vs. Ohio State, Rec Hall (8 p.m.): Wrestling fans will have free parking in the Nittany Parking Deck, as well as in the Red A lots off North Atherton Street at White Course Drive. The gates will be open at both the entrance and the exit to the deck on  Saturday night. This event is sold out.

Sunday, Feb. 4, traffic and parking information

Penn State will wrap up the weekend with two events on the east side of campus.

Women’s tennis vs. James Madison, Tennis Center (noon): Parking will be available in the Orange F lot just south of the Tennis Center. Admission is free.

Women’s basketball vs. Michigan State, Bryce Jordan Center (2 p.m.): Parking will be available in the Jordan East and Stadium West lots with a $5 fee for nonparking permit holders. Lots immediately surrounding the venue are held for working and premium parking permit holders.

The Bryce Jordcan Center ticket office will open at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are available for the National Girls and Women in Sports Day contest.
