Harris, Rivers named Big Ten athletes of the week

ROSEMONT, Ill. -- Following the second week of track & field for Penn State, Isaiah Harris and Danae Rivershave been named the Big Ten Men's and Women's Track Athletes of the Week, respectively, as announced by the conference office Wednesday afternoon.

Harris finished the Clemson Invitational with a first-place finish in the 600-meters running 1:16.55 that currently leads the Big Ten Conference and is No. 2 in the NCAA. Harris also returned later in the meet to anchor the 4x400-meter relay to a season-best of 3:08.17 that is No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 9 in the NCAA.

Rivers made her season debut in her signature event in style. Rivers posted a first-place finish in the 800-meters running an NCAA leading 2:03.13 that also set a new school record besting her record mark of 2:04.04 from last season.
