LEARFIELD CUP: Penn State Athletics is off to another superlative start in the Learfield Directors' Cup, moving up to No. 2 in the latest standings. The Nittany Lions rose to No. 2 on the strength of the Big Ten champion women's volleyball team advancing to the NCAA championship semifinals.
TO TITAN: Researchers from the Department of Aerospace Engineering are part of a team led by the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory whose proposal for a revolutionary rotorcraft to investigate Saturn's largest moon, Titan, has been selected by NASA as one of two finalists for the agency's New Frontiers mission.
ACADEMIC ALL-BIG TEN: Penn State student-athletes toppled another school academic record with the release of the 2017 Fall Academic All-Big Ten recipients. Penn State tallied 117 fall honorees, shattering the previous fall mark of 100 set in 2012-13.
COLLINS HALL OF FAME: Penn State national award winner and first-team All-American quarterback Kerry Collins was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the 2018 class.
