Deadline for fall 2017 end-of-semester transcript orders is Dec. 17

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The deadline to place a fall 2017 end-of-semester transcript order is 11:59 p.m. EST on Dec. 17. End-of-semester transcript orders are those with a requested processing time of “Hold for Grades” or “Hold for Degree.”

Selecting a processing time of “Hold for Grades” will ensure that your transcript will not be released until fall 2017 final grade reporting — including notations for awards such as dean's list — has completed. Selecting “Hold for Degree” ensures that your transcript will not release until the Office of the University Registrar processes all fall 2017 graduation information, including messages about honors and distinction.

Any transcript order with a processing time of “Hold for Grades” or “Hold for Degree” received after the Dec. 17 deadline will not be processed until the end of the spring 2018 semester. Once a transcript order is placed, the Office of the University Registrar is not able to change that order’s processing time, cancel the order, or provide a refund.

Orders placed before the 11:59 p.m. EST deadline on Dec. 17 with a processing time of "Hold for Grades" or "Hold for Degree" will be processed by the following dates:

Hold for Grades

  • Jan. 8: Undergraduate/Graduate, and Medical Careers
  • Jan. 15: Law Career

Hold for Degree

  • Jan. 15: Undergraduate/Graduate, Law, and Medical Careers

Frequently Asked Questions

I missed the deadline to Hold for Degree, but I need my transcript to say that I graduated. What can I do?

If you miss the Hold for Degree or Hold for Grades cutoff for Fall 2017, you should wait until the necessary information is on your transcript to place your transcript order. Log into LionPATH to view your unofficial transcript. If your degree has been awarded, you will see a section near the top of your transcript with the heading "Degrees Awarded." If your degree is listed there, it will also be on your official transcript. You can place an order for your official transcript and choose a processing time of “Now.”

I picked Hold for Grades when I ordered my transcript, and I can see all of my grades on LionPATH. Why hasn't my transcript been sent yet?

Your grades will post to your transcript after your instructors enter them into LionPATH. It is possible that your all of your grades will be available before the "Hold for Grades" processing date of Jan. 8. Choosing a processing time of "Hold for Grades" ensures that information such as Dean's List will not be missing. If you don't want to wait until Jan. 8 and you see your grades in LionPATH, you can order your official transcript with a processing time of "Now," but be aware that "Dean's List" may not appear on your transcript.

I'm graduating with a doctorate. What option should I choose when I order my transcript?

Doctoral graduates receive their diplomas at the graduation ceremony. Your transcript should reflect that your doctorate has been awarded after the ceremony. You can place an order with a processing time of "Now" after the graduation ceremony has ended. We still recommend that you confirm that your degree was awarded by checking your unofficial transcript before you order.
