Accident at Shortlidge Road and Park Avenue damages traffic signal

Motorists should use caution

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Commuters arriving and leaving the University Park campus tomorrow (Monday, Nov. 6) should leave extra time in their schedule, as they may experience some delays. Due to a traffic accident earlier in the day at the intersection of Shortlidge Road and Park Avenue, the traffic light is damaged and no longer in operation. Work is being conducted to repair the signal, but is not expected to be complete before the morning commute, and the situation may not be corrected in time for the afternoon commute away from campus.

There are currently temporary stop signs erected at the intersection and police are urging travelers to use caution in the area. They also encourage motorists to allow extra travel time, as delays are anticipated.
