UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — All students interested in improving their study skills and learning new, more effective study strategies are invited to attend an interactive workshop at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, in 100 Life Sciences Building.
‘Study Smarter, Not Harder,’ sponsored by the Division of Undergraduate Studies and the Eberly College of Science, aims to teach students how to create good learning habits and break down course material into manageable concepts. Presenters also will cover effective strategies for processing information and the most important factors in successful learning.
Faculty presenters include Jackie Bortiantynski and John Waters from the Eberly College of Science and Josh Wede from the College of the Liberal Arts.
Ninety-nine percent of surveyed students who attended last year’s ‘Study Smarter, Not Harder’ workshop indicated that they would recommend it to a friend.

The Division of Undergraduate Studies, a unit within Penn State Undergraduate Education, is Penn State’s largest unit of enrollment for first-year students. It leads the development of advising policies and practices, manages the University-wide academic information network, and provides general academic advising for current and prospective Penn State students.
