Women's volleyball moves to No. 2

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State women’s volleyball team move back up to No. 2 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll in the Week 7 rankings after going 2-0 with wins over Ohio State and Maryland in Big Ten action.

The Nittany Lions have been bouncing between the No. 2 and 3 spots since the Week 3 poll as they flipped spots with Stanford, who is now in the No. 3 spot.

Penn State trailed Florida (13-0), who received 61 first-place votes, while the Nittany Lions received one, and Stanford received two.

The Big Ten was represented by five other programs as Nebraska followed the Nittany Lions at No. 4. Minnesota rolled in at No. 6, while Michigan State broke into the top-10 at No. 10. Wisconsin followed at No. 11, and Purdue rounded out the ranked league members at No. 16.

Penn State, who is 15-1 on the season and 5-1 in Big Ten action, also remained at No. 1 in the second RPI ranking of the season.
