WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Lisa M. Andrus, who has more than 20 years of professional experience in a variety of fields including hospitality, government, small business, health care and higher education, has been named dean of business and hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
A Williamsport native, Andrus returned to the area after earning a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, a master’s degree in industrial and labor relations, and a doctorate in administration and leadership studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
During her four years as an assistant professor at IUP, Andrus presented research at several national and international conferences, resulting in publication. The research covered the fields of emotional intelligence in the hospitality industry, hospitality employees’ job satisfaction and work-life balance.
Andrus serves as chair of the annual Applied Business and Entrepreneurship Association International Conference hosted in Maui, Hawaii, and she was adviser for the Delta Chapter of Alpha Sigma Tau sorority at IUP. She is the owner of Andrus Hospitality LLC and president and CEO of the Williamsport Community Kitchen.
“Lisa has a wide range of relevant experience in higher education, government and private industry that will serve her well as she leads the School of Business & Hospitality at Penn College,” said Paul L. Starkey, vice president for academic affairs and provost. “I look forward to her contributions in this significant leadership role.”
Andrus, who officially begins her duties on Nov. 1, succeeds Gerri F. Luke, who is retiring at the end of this month as dean of business and hospitality.
