Feedback on strategic plan update notes successes, ties to University goals

Because the University sees the strategic plan as a foundation for where we are headed as a University, colleges are asked to provide an annual progress report. The College of Education submitted its report in May, and recently received feedback from the University.

"Please note that there was a two-page limit on the progress report and that this limited how much detail we were able to provide," said Dean David H. Monk. "We can be proud of the progress we are making, and the feedback will help us make further progress. Comments are welcome as we continue to move forward with the implementation."

Each unit update was reviewed by three or four members of the University Strategic Plan Oversight Committee and at least one member of the Office of Planning and Assessment (OPA) staff. The reviews are based on the progress report template, which asked units to provide a progress update and examples of early outcomes and early successes. The template also instructs each unit to describe how its plan’s implementation was contributing to the University’s strategic goals and to address obstacles or concerns relative to achieving its own goals.

OPA staff consolidated the Oversight Committee’s feedback into a single document. This feedback represents the thoughts of several individuals, who were not always in perfect agreement.
