Traffic impacts and parking information for The Wall exhibit at Innovation Park

Transportation Services has announced information regarding traffic impacts and event parking related to The Wall at Penn State, a Vietnam War exhibit to be hosted at Innovation Park from Thursday, Oct. 5 through Sunday, Oct. 8.

At approximately 5 p.m. tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 4), the exhibit will arrive at Innovation Park accompanied by a Motorcycle Honor Escort that is expected to include police vehicles and at least several hundred motorcycles. Upon arrival, the motorcade will park in the far right eastbound lane along Innovation Boulevard starting near the 100 Building. To accommodate the exhibit arrival, no other traffic will be permitted to enter or exit Innovation Park during the arrival period until all motorcade vehicles have parked, which is expected to take approximately 10 to 20 minutes. Faculty and staff employees working at Innovation Park who normally leave work at 5 p.m. who wish to avoid this short delay are encouraged to leave work prior to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, if permitted by their supervisor.

The Wall at Penn State will officially open at noon on Thursday, Oct. 5, and will remain open 24 hours a day through 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 8. With the exhibit staged between the 100 Building and 200 Building, general parking for those visiting the exhibit will be available across from the 200 Building in the first three sections of parking located just east of The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. ADA parking will be available on the east side of the Orange parking area located behind the 200 Building. If necessary, the Porter North parking area located just north of Medlar Field will be used for overflow exhibit parking, with no-fare bus service available to and from Innovation Park via CATA's Red Link bus service.

With traffic expected to be heavy near the exhibit area, faculty and staff from other areas of campus visiting the exhibit or visiting other Innovation Park offices on Thursday and Friday are encouraged to use CATA's Red Link to travel between campus and Innovation Park.
