Abington students lead collection drive for Puerto Rico hurricane victims

Four Penn State Abington student organizations launched a donation drive this week to support victims of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico.

Marianella Romero, a liberal arts major and an organizer of the benefit, is one of many students who have family on the devastated island.

“We all have a responsibility to each other as one people of the same earth. We have brothers and sisters suffering at the hands of something out of their control,” she said. “Let’s stand together with the people of Puerto Rico and do everything we can to give these individuals and families something we would all hope to receive in a time like this — love.”
