Michael Eric Dyson to speak at Penn State Greater Allegheny

MCKEESPORT, Pa. — Michael Eric Dyson, professor of sociology at Georgetown University, will discuss his new book, "Tears We Cannot Stop," at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, in Wunderley Gymnasium at Penn State Greater Allegheny. His talk will launch "Crossing Bridges: A Summit," which will bring community leaders, students, faculty, staff and interested citizens together to consider how we can address the racial divides in our local communities.

An American Book Award-winner, two-time NAACP Image Award-winner, New York Times opinion contributing writer, and a contributing editor for The New Republic, Dyson is the author of 18 books, many of them bestsellers. Before teaching at Georgetown, Dyson taught at the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, Brown University, the University of North Carolina and DePaul University.
