UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Human Resources' comprehensive online resource for all 2018 benefits open enrollment and other important benefits information is now available to Penn State employees. The annual opportunity for Penn State employees to review and select their benefits is less than two months away, and Human Resources is providing employees with all of the information they will need to make informed decisions through this dedicated microsite.

The 2018 Benefits Open Enrollment (BOE) period is Nov. 1-17, and employees can visit http://openenrollment.psu.edu to access the tools and resources needed to help make benefit elections for 2018.

As in years past, an interactive e-Magazine Benefits Guide will be available within the microsite. The Guide will provide information to faculty and staff about what’s changing in 2018, plus helpful plan descriptions and comparison grids.

The microsite also includes a list of online webinars and in-person, on-campus meetings for employees who prefer interpersonal communications. Representatives from Aetna and CVS Caremark will be present during the on-campus meetings to answer questions.

Both the webinars and in-person meetings were designed to provide busy faculty and staff with a comprehensive, convenient and interactive resource for benefits information.

To find a schedule of upcoming webinars and registration instructions, click webinars page. For a schedule of in-person campus meetings, click in-person meetings page

Three main topics will be covered in the webinars and in-person meetings:

  • 2018 health care benefits plan design changes and cost sharing
  • Benefits vendor changes, including a new short-term disability program
  • How the changes may impact you, with an opportunity for you to ask questions

Because Penn State knows spouses and partners are an important part of the benefits election process, spouses and partners are also encouraged to participate on a webinar or attend an in-person campus meeting.
