UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Citizens throughout central Pennsylvania and fans attending Saturday’s Penn State-Pitt football game are being advised that a military flyover will take place during pregame ceremonies.

Two U.S. Air Force A-10 Warthogs will fly over Beaver Stadium immediately following the national anthem, at approximately 3:18 p.m. The planes will be flying from the south as they approach the stadium.

The two pilots are Penn State graduates — Maj. Bryan Nickola and Maj. Ryan Yingling.

The No. 4 Nittany Lions host the Panthers at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in the 98th meeting between the schools. Beaver Stadium gates will open at 1:30 p.m., and the game will air on ABC, the Penn State Sports Network (2 p.m. airtime) and GoPSUsports.com.
