Schreyer Institute workshop to address handling challenging classroom situations

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence will present a free workshop titled “Handling Challenging Situations in the Classroom” from noon to 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 12, in 315 Rider Building at University Park. The workshop will be repeated from 10 to 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, in 7A Sparks Building, also at University Park.

Whether it’s chronically late students, distracting use of mobile devices, hostile students, or some other behavior, challenging situations happen to all teachers. Workshop attendees will learn how to deal with such challenges without becoming part of the disruption.

This workshop is required as part of the Instructional Foundations Series for new instructors.
