Erica Frankenberg, associate professor of educational leadership, was quoted in a Philly.com article about the link between charter schools and segregation.

Kevin Kinser, head of the Department of Education Policy Studies, was quoted in a Times Higher Education article about India's plans to improve its education policy amid unstable policy.

Bonnie J. F. Meyer, professor of educational psychology, successfully finished her term as 2016-17 president of Division 15 – Educational Psychology at the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association in Washington, D.C., in August. Penn State colleagues, staff, students and research collaborators contributed to this successful year, including Division 15 Convention Program co-chairs Pui-wa Lei, professor of educational psychology, and Kay Wijekumar, a Penn State alumna and current professor of teaching, learning and culture at Texas A&M University. The three colleagues also published "Web-based text structure strategy instruction improves seventh graders’ content area reading comprehension" in the Journal of Educational Psychology.
