Students collecting toiletries, towels, blankets for Harvey disaster relief

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State students are collaborating on a disaster relief effort to aid those in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey. Toiletries, towels and blankets are being accepted in the lobby area of the Paul Robeson Cultural Center, located in the HUB-Robeson Center at University Park.

Items will be collected for two weeks, and include:

  • pillows
  • blankets
  • towels
  • toiletries (soap, shampoo, baby wipes, diapers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, washcloths, feminine products, combs, picks and brushes)

The drive is sponsored by: UNICEF Penn State, the Penn State chapter of NAACP, the Asian Pacific American Caucus, Eco Action, and the Black Graduate Student Association.

Two service trips to Houston in the fall and in the spring are currently being organized.
