UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s contract with Highmark, its current third-party administrator (TPA) for health care benefits, ends on Dec. 31, 2017, and the University has selected Aetna as its TPA for the medical benefits program, and CVS Caremark as its TPA for the prescription drug program.
Despite the change, the Freedom Blue Medicare Advantage Plan through Highmark will continue to be offered to eligible retirees in 2018. Under-65 Retirees will have Aetna as the plan administrator.
