University Police investigating incidents of cruelty to animals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Police are investigating three separate incidents regarding cruelty to animals. One incident occurred at approximately 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 10, and two incidents occurred at 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14. An unknown person used a homemade blow dart to cause injury to wildlife on campus. Penn State University Police are seeking to identify the person or persons responsible.

Anyone with information should contact Penn State University Police at 814-863-1111 or Centre County CrimeStoppers at tip@centrecountycrimestoppers.org. Persons providing information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 from Centre County CrimeStoppers.

The possession, carrying or use of any weapon, ammunition or explosive by any person is prohibited on all University property except by authorized law enforcement officers and other persons specifically authorized by the University.

University Police would like to remind the community to report all suspicious persons, vehicles and activities to University Police immediately at 3-1111, 911 or directly by using an emergency phone.
