Vithalani receives American Academy of Family Physicians honor

HERSHEY, Pa. — Dr. Nicki Vithalani, a physician in the Penn State Health Family and Community Medicine Residency at Mount Nittany Medical Center, received the 2017 American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) Award for Excellence in Graduate Medical Education.

Of the 3,500 eligible family medicine residents nationally, only 12 are recognized for their leadership, civic involvement, exemplary patient care, and aptitude for and interest in family medicine.

Vithalani will receive a $1,000 scholarship and transportation and lodging for two nights to receive the honor in person in September at the 2017 AAFP Family Medicine Experience in San Antonio, Texas.
