Abington athletics director named to conference executive committee

GANSEVOORT, N.Y. — The North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) selected Penn State Abington athletics director Deb Solfaro as its Senior Woman Administrator on the conference's executive committee.

She continues as director of athletics, intramurals, and recreation at Abington.

Solfaro arrived at Abington in 2016 with experience as a student-athlete, a head coach and an advocate for student-athletes. She served in a variety of positions at Mansfield, Fairleigh Dickinson, and Boston universities as well as the United States Military Academy and the State University of New York Ulster.

Solfaro earned a bachelor's degree from Southern Connecticut State University and a master's from Fairleigh Dickinson.

Penn State Abington, formerly the Ogontz campus, offers baccalaureate degrees in 18 majors at its suburban location just north of Philadelphia. Nearly half of our 4,000 students complete all four years at Abington, with opportunities in undergraduate research, the Schreyer honors program, NCAA Division III athletics, and more. Students can start the first two years of more than 160 Penn State majors at Abington and complete their degrees at University Park or another campus. Lions Gate, our first residence hall, will open in August.
