UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Periodically, Penn State will take a look back at news appearing in the Intercom, the University's faculty and staff newspaper, which has now transitioned into Penn State Today. As the 1977 football season approached, tickets remained for three of Penn State's home games, so the following advertisement was placed to try and fill the seats.

"Tickets remain for three home games"

A limited number of tickets remain for fall. Four of the Nittany Lions' seven games at Beaver Stadium are sold out, but some tickets are still available for the games against Houston, Sept. 17; Utah State, Oct. 8; and Miami, Oct. 29.

Anyone interested in applying for tickets should send a check to the Penn State Ticket Office, Room 237 Recreation Building, University Park, PA 16802. Tickets are $8 each. Checks should include $1 for mailing and handling charges and should be made payable to "The Pennsylvania State University."

Update:

In 1977, Penn State went on to a 11-1 season, losing only to the University of Kentucky by a score of 20-24 on Oct. 1 in Beaver Stadium. The team finished No. 4 in the Coaches poll and No. 5 in the AP poll.
