Construction Update: Pollock Road and Stadium West Drive

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — As summer flies by, a few campus construction projects have progressed quickly. Two of those projects are the Pollock Road rehabilitation and the Stadium West Drive closure.

The Pollock Road rehabilitation project is expected to be fully completed ahead of the original July 28 completion date. The three-phase rehabilitation project includes brick replacement and removal, milling and overlay. Traffic through the area will reopen for the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts.

The Stadium West Drive project is on-schedule to have the road reopen between June 30 and July 12 to accommodate the Central PA 4th Festival and Happy Valley Jam. During this time, the temporary entrance off Curtin Road to the Stadium West parking lot will close. Work will continue behind fencing while Stadium West Drive is open. However, no work will take place on July 4 or July 8. Following Happy Valley Jam, Stadium West Drive will reclose and the temporary entrance off Curtin Road will reopen to allow the contractor to finish the remaining road and sidewalk work.

Reconstruction of Stadium West Drive includes a permanent removal of the gravel lot, a redesign of the spaced lot closest to Park Avenue, the addition of sidewalks, and a change in traffic flow along Stadium West Drive. The expected completion date for this project is July 28.
