Penn State Lehigh Valley announces fall professional certificate offerings

Penn State Lehigh Valley’s Center for Business Development and Community Outreach will begin its fall professional development offerings in early September 2017. Local professionals have the opportunity to study for certification exams in areas including project management and human resources.

Project Management begins Sept. 11. This program consists of four course modules; each one is five weeks in length, which covers the terminology, concepts and calculations used by Project Management Institute (PMI). All four courses are PMI approved for continuing education credits. Register by Aug. 15 and receive a discounted price of $659 for Module 1. The registration fee after Aug. 16 will be $759. The price includes all course materials and textbooks. Classes will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on consecutive Mondays at the Center Valley campus, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania. SHRM Learning System is for human resource professionals who wish to learn more about human resource practice or certify for the SHRM (Society for Human Resource Management) CP (Certified Professional) or SHRM S-CP (Senior Certified Professional). Register prior to Aug. 15 and receive a discounted price of $1,319. The registration fee after Aug. 16 will be $1,419. The price includes all course materials. Classes will run from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. every Monday from Sept. 11 through Dec. 4 at the Center Valley campus, 2809 Saucon Valley Road, Center Valley, Pennsylvania. For more information, visit the SHRM Learning System Course Information website.

PayTrain Level 1 prepares payroll professionals for FCP and eventually CPP certification. The eight-week course begins Oct. 11 and delivers comprehensive, flexible, and effective FPC and CPP exam preparation. Designed using a proven approach for teaching adult learners, this system helps you understand, apply, and engage with relevant payroll content and online exercises.  The cost of the course is $895, which includes all course materials and textbooks.  PayTrain Level 1 is a prerequisite to PayTrain Level 2, which will be offered spring 2018.
