Registration open for child maltreatment conference

Penn State's sixth annual Child Maltreatment Solutions Network conference, "Scientific Synergy & Innovation from Military Family & Child Welfare Contexts," is set for Sept. 27-28 at the Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus. This year's event will promote the collaboration of researchers, policy analysts and practice professionals to discuss and determine how to take military family research and programs and use them broadly. 'Lives of Color' conference to examine race-ethnicity and life development

The Center for Life Course and Longitudinal Studies (C2LS), a collaboration between the Department of Sociology and the College of the Liberal Arts, will sponsor "Lives of Color: Race-ethnicity and the Life Course" on June 12-14 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. Scholars will provide a basis for thought and discussion regarding how life course theories can further our understanding of "lives of color," in combination with the development of innovative research approaches and methodology. ITS to offer Word and PowerPoint accessibility training

ITS Training Services is offering a hands-on accessibility session from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 23, in 23 Willard Building. The session will focus on optimizing materials for accessibility using tools in Word and PowerPoint 2013. Participants will use these tools to explore accessibility best practices, including applying and modifying heading styles and adding alternative text and captions to images. Institute for CyberScience invites researchers to be associates and affiliates

Researchers are invited to participate in the Institute for CyberScience ICS Associates and Affiliates Program that enables experts whose research involves computation and big-data methods to engage with the institute and each other. Participating researchers will receive alerts for external funding opportunities, have access to advanced computing technologies, and receive updates about professional development opportunities related to high-performance computing. Penn State Today announces summer photo contest

Getting away this summer? June in particular? Penn State Today is conducting a photo contest seeking the best photos of Penn Staters showing off their Nittany Lion pride. The shots can be from a vacation, a summer internship, a research trip abroad or even Penn State's summer session on campus. Here are guidelines; winners' photos will be displayed on Penn State's social media platforms.

Research photo contest seeks entries

The staff of Research/Penn State magazine is looking for research images to run as part of the publication’s "At Large" feature. The winning photographer will receive a high-quality print of the image used in the magazine, suitable for framing. Runners-up may be featured on Penn State social media channels.
