A: Penn State's summer 2017 commencement will take place on Saturday, Aug. 12, at the Bryce Jordan Center. Unlike the spring commencement ceremony, which is much larger and college-specific, summer commencement recognizes graduates from all colleges in one ceremony.

Bachelor's and associate degrees will be conferred at 10:30 a.m. The graduate ceremony will take place at 2:30 p.m. Schreyer Honors College graduates also will be recognized during a separate medals ceremony scheduled for 9 a.m.

Undergraduate and graduate students who plan to graduate this summer must file their intent to graduate by June 16. Applications for graduation can be submitted in the LionPATH Student Center. Students also are encouraged to contact their advisers prior to commencement to ensure all graduation requirements have been met. If the activation period has passed, undergraduate College of Education students should contact the advising office; graduate students should contact Graduate Enrollment Services in the Graduate School. Specific information, including instructions regarding academic dress, arrival time and reserving a seat, can be found at commencement.psu.edu. Students in the College of Education can direct all commencement-related questions to Tiffany Benner, certification assistant, at tjb31@psu.edu.
