Penn State Smeal to graduate nearly 1,600 this weekend

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- The Penn State Smeal College of Business will mark a time of transition this weekend as 1,554 students will graduate and bid farewell to Penn State.

Senior Sendoff will serve to kick off official Smeal commencement activities from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 6, in the Business Building Atrium. Members of the Class of 2017 and their families are invited.

Smeal’s commencement ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. Sunday, May 7, in the Bryce Jordan Center. Farnoosh Torabi, a 2002 Smeal graduate in finance who is a financial expert, best-selling author, speaker and host, will deliver the commencement address.

For those who are unable to attend commencement, Smeal is partnering with Penn State to stream it live. The commencement streaming link can be found online.

Smeal’s one-year Master of Accounting (MAcc) Program will hold its commencement ceremony noon Sunday, May 7, in the Mount Nittany Club in Beaver Stadium, conferring degrees to 71 students. Light refreshments will be served at 11 a.m.
