UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — As the spring semester comes to a close, construction crews continue to make strides in the renovations to Chambers Building. The upgrades are the result of a $1 million pledge from Gay and Bill Krause to build a new learning space for students.

In order to complete the renovations, the Chambers bridges will receive a facelift, causing access to be shut off from May 8 to approximately Aug. 18. During that time, crews will repair and replace windows and rooftops. These bridges, which link the north faculty-oriented portion of Chambers with the future Krause Learning Space, will feature lounge space and work bars for students.

Crews also will update the staircase spindles in the lobby of Chambers and renovate first-floor restrooms to make them ADA-compliant. As a result, first-floor restrooms will close on May 8. Updates to the second-floor restrooms located by the Advising and Certification Center began this past spring and the men's restroom is completed and has reopened. However, the women's restroom is still undergoing updates and is expected to be available for use by the end of May.

Updates regarding the construction and renovation process will be communicated to college faculty, staff and students via Connections and email. For more information about current renovations and their impact on the college, contact Brandy Wood, facilities coordinator, at bdm13@psu.edu.
