All-Sports Museum to host gallery talk with Kay Kustanbauter on April 21

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Kay Kustanbauter, former executive director of the Nittany Lion Club, will kick off the Penn State All-Sports Museum’s 2017 slate of gallery talks with a presentation at noon on Friday, April 21, in the museum’s football gallery.

Kustanbauter worked for Penn State for 43 years before retiring in 2005. Kustanbauter served as the executive director of the Nittany Lion Club from 1989 to 2005. Under Kustanbauter’s leadership, the Nittany Lion Club saw its annual donor base grow from 800 members to more than 20,000 supporters who give more than $22 million annually.

Kustanbauter received the 2000 Fundraiser of the Year Award from the National Association of Athletic Development Directors for her significant contributions and dedication to the profession. She also received the 2000 Ridge Riley Lions Pride Award by Penn State’s Division of Development and Alumni Relations. In 2013, she was named Penn State’s Renaissance honoree for her contributions to the University and State College communities. A scholarship was started in her honor, and more than $220,000 was raised in her name.

Gallery talks are held in the Penn State All-Sports Museum, located on the southwest corner of Beaver Stadium opposite the Bryce Jordan Center. A long canopy leading from Curtin Road marks the museum entrance. There is a small kiosk lot across the street from the museum for visitor parking, as well as in Lot 44 for those with an appropriate pass. All gallery talks are live-streamed on the museum’s Facebook page for those unable to attend. This event is free and open to the public.
