Blue and White Film Festival to be held April 22

The Blue and White Film Festival, an annual showcase of Penn State student films hosted by the PSU Student Film Organization (SFO), will roll out the red carpet at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the State Theatre in downtown State College. The festival includes a variety of short film genres, including narrative, documentary and experimental shorts.

Tickets are free for Penn State students.

All films screened at the festival were written, filmed and edited by Penn State students. Submitted films undergo a judging process by a panel of film alumni and PSU faculty in related departments. SFO is not involved in the judging process.

Returning for a second time, the Blue and White Film Festival is holding a screenplay competition. Winners of the competition will be announced at the festival during intermission, and will receive a copy of Final Draft.

The Student Film Organization invites participants to attend a reception after the festival, held on the second floor of the State Theatre. Attendees will have an opportunity to converse with the filmmakers. Food and refreshments will be provided.

Merchandise, including festival DVDs, T-shirts and posters, will be available to order in the lobby during intermission as well as before and after the event.

The Blue and White Film Festival is a great opportunity to view the works of talented, rising filmmakers at Penn State.
