University Police investigating invasion of privacy incidents in Thompson Hall

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State University Police are investigating two invasion of privacy incidents in Thompson Hall, which is located in the West Housing Area at University Park. In both incidents, unknown person(s) appeared to be taking pictures or videoing students while they were in the shower.

These incidents took place at approximately 9:40 p.m. on April 16 and 12:45 a.m. on April 17.

Anyone with information relating to the identity of the actors or who has fallen victim to similar activity should contact Penn State University Police at 814-863-1111. Anonymous tips can be submitted online at http://www.police.psu.edu/psu-police/report-crime.cfm.

In addition, tips can be submitted via email to Centre County CrimeStoppers at tip@centrecountycrimestoppers.org. Those providing information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000 from Centre County CrimeStoppers.

University Police would also like to remind the community to:

  • Report any suspicious people immediately.
  • Trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe, get to a safe place and call for help.
  • If you see someone getting victimized, get involved by calling University Police at 814-863-1111, 911 or directly by using an emergency phone.
