UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Capital Day takes place March 22 and brings together the Penn State community and Pennsylvania elected officials, with a high-energy rally in the Capitol rotunda capping the day’s events. You can join the conversation online by using #PSUCapitalDay on social media.
Overview
During Capital Day, the Penn State Grassroots Network joins forces with Penn State alumni, network volunteers, and Penn State student government groups to meet with legislators to discuss the importance of supporting Penn State. These in-person meetings happen at the state Capitol complex, and conversations can be one-on-one or within small groups.
The Grassroots Network encourages volunteers to share their personal stories of how Penn State has positively impacted their lives and why continued support is critical for future generations of Penn Staters, many of whom will then contribute to Pennsylvania’s economic development as innovators and consumers.
The Grassroots Network will schedule legislative meetings ahead of time for volunteers, connecting Penn Staters with their local representatives. Visit the Alumni Association’s website for more information on the annual event.

The Penn State Grassroots Network and Penn State Alumni Association are also co-hosting a series of video broadcasts.
The first broadcast is centered around Penn State’s 2017–18 appropriation request and the political landscape in Harrisburg, among other topics; and the second conversation focuses on how Penn State student government leaders are advocating for healthy state support for the University.
